Who We Are
Small Steps Early Learning Centre is the new name for our fabulous daycare. We opened our doors in 2008 and have been growing ever since.
We believe that a child's early years set the foundation for further learning. We provide a play-based learning experience in a welcoming environment in which children are nurtured and challenged cognitively, emotionally, socially and physically. We facilitate experiences for children to grow, learn and discover in a stimulating environment, allowing children to develop at their own pace.
We are a Fully Licenced facility with a capacity for 84 children. We are inspected by both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, upholding the standards set forth by them. We provide programs for children 3 months - 12 years of age.
We employee RECE's that are certified in First Aid and CPR to provide quality care that meet the cognitive, emotional, social and physical needs of each individual child. Our assistants are individuals that have a genuine interest and experience working with children and in facilitating their development.
We are located in Oak Ridges, off of Yonge St. between King Road and Bloomington Side Road. This makes us the perfect location for busy parents that are accessing the major highways or the transit.
Proud to offer all families over 12 years of experience in the Childcare Industry. Call us now!
Hello, my name is Ashley. I am originally from Turkey where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and started work as an Art teacher. Upon my family's immigration to Canada,I decided to further my education in the area of child development. I studied at George Brown College and received my diploma in Early Childhood Education. I enjoyed every aspect of teaching and have realized that children can teach us as much as we teach them. I feel proud to be able to assist and help families coming from diverse backgrounds.
I have previously worked with children at a weekend school as an art teacher, and also provided handcraft workshops for children and adults. As the mother of two wonderful children, a son who is 13-years old and a daughter who is 10-years old, I enjoy spending quality time with children. I love anything related to art from knitting to sewing and cooking. These activities are amazing especially if done with children because they are so interested to learn. Being an Early childhood educator has been an amazing experience and the knowledge of knowing that I will have an impact on their development is truly rewarding.
I am excited to join the team of Small Steps Early Learning Centre as an art teacher and Early Childhood Educator!
